Himani’s practice explores place not as a fixed geographic location, but as a meeting point of light, memory and emotion. She is interested in how our experiences of a place can change what we see and remember. By combining different moments, perspectives and visual fragments, She creates dreamlike narratives that move between reality and imagination. Her work invites viewers to pause, look closer, and find their own emotional connection within the image.
She works primarily with her own photography, layering and combining multiple images through digital compositing to create new visual narratives. She then uses hand-applied acrylic paint and gel textures to introduce colour, depth and a physical quality, allowing the work to move beyond photography into a more tactile, painterly space.
Based in Singapore, her work has been exhibited in Singapore and internationally, including exhibitions at ION Art Gallery, the German Centre and Visual Arts Centre. Her work has also been featured in Art Seen Magazine and the Arts to Hearts 101 Artbook, and she received the Public Choice Award at Voice of Art 5: Roots & Wings in Singapore. Her work is held in private collections.
