Ayda Alp
(b. 1969. Ankara.)Ayda Alp is a Singapore-based mixed-media artist whose practice explores energy, consciousness and the relationship between the visible and unseen through colour, symbolic systems, sacred geometry and materially layered forms.
“Through colour, symbolism and materiality, I translate intangible states of energy and consciousness into forms that can be felt as much as they are seen.”
Ayda Alp’s practice explores the relationship between the visible and unseen, considering energy, consciousness, emotion and the subtle forces that shape human experience. Colour functions as an essential language within the work, carrying emotional and symbolic associations while creating an intuitive sense of movement and resonance. Drawing from sacred geometry, energetic symbolism and natural forms, Alp’s works invite contemplation of interconnectedness, transformation and the possibility of experiencing art beyond the purely visual.
Working primarily through mixed media, Alp builds richly textured surfaces through painting, dimensional elements, crystals, minerals and natural materials. Flowers, leaves, geometric structures and symbolic forms become part of a layered visual vocabulary, allowing material, colour and symbolism to operate simultaneously. Rather than treating these elements as purely decorative, she uses them to create works in which physical matter becomes a vehicle for ideas of energy, balance and inner transformation.
Based in Singapore, Alp has exhibited her work through a growing programme of gallery and curated exhibitions, including multiple editions of Voice of Art at Be One Gallery and ION Art Gallery, exhibitions with Canvas Connections, and presentations during Singapore Art Month. Her works are also held in private collections in Singapore and internationally, reflecting an expanding engagement with collectors drawn to the emotional, symbolic and material dimensions of her practice.

This textured artwork honours love’s enduring presence, capturing fleeting moments and deep imprints that shape our memories and personal stories.
Love is the thread that binds all existence, a universal language ingrained in every aspect of life. The acrylic textured painting LOVE embodies the idea of art in motion, with the word LOVE at its centre, crafted from flowers in rich, heavy texture. The thick application of paint gives the letters a sculptural presence, inviting viewers to engage with the piece both visually and tangibly. The texture brings depth and complexity to the central theme, making LOVE stand out as a powerful, multidimensional expression.
The surrounding canvas is predominantly white, symbolising purity and openness. Flowing white vines wind across the surface, giving the impression of movement and fluidity. These delicate vines seem to dance and weave around the central word, suggesting the continuous and natural flow of love and creativity. Their gentle curves guide the viewer's eye, reinforcing the theme of effortless movement.
Amidst this tranquil backdrop, floating royal blue leaves offer a striking contrast. Their colour, reminiscent of blue-and-white porcelain, evokes a sense of timelessness and elegance. The combination of blue and white symbolizes calmness, purity, and depth, aligning with the emotions associated with love.
Large, textured flowers in blue and white are scattered across the canvas, adorned with lapis lazuli beads. These flowers, with their intricate details and embellishments, add layers of beauty and sophistication. The overall composition of the painting conveys the idea of love as something dynamic, constantly evolving, and flowing—just as art does in its purest form.

"An exploration of harmony and flow, where gold koi circle within a field of radiant balance."
A sculptural painting that bridges symbolism and contemporary artistry, this work offers a luminous interpretation of Yin and Yang through texture, material, and form. Two golden koi glide in perfect balance, their bodies adorned with hand-applied 22 karat gold leaf that also frames the central circle, evoking harmony and sacred geometry. One side is enriched with the grounding depth of black tourmaline, the other blossoming with textured yellow and white florals, each centred with a tourmaline bead. Set against a vivid red backdrop, the piece pulses with vitality and equilibrium, a meditation on duality, flow, and the dance of opposing yet complementary forces.

As an artist, my purpose is to be a conduit of healing – for humanity and Mother Earth. Guided by the wisdom of Nikola Tesla's famous quote, "If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration," and inspired by Dr. Masaru Emoto's groundbreaking research on water's capacity to carry memory and respond to healing intentions, I infuse my art with ingredients that elevate its vibration. Dr Emoto said: "Water has a memory and carries within it our thoughts and prayers. As you yourself are water, no matter where you are, your prayers will be carried to the rest of the world."
From the healing energy of crystals and semi-precious stones to the soothing essence of essential oils, and the transformative hues of colour therapy systems (Aura-Soma), I carefully craft each piece to resonate with healing frequencies. I chant healing mantras and even the water I use is charged under the revitalizing rays of the sun, imbuing it with life-giving energy. Furthermore, in the spirit of embracing imperfections and celebrating the journey of healing, I draw inspiration from the Japanese art of "KINTSUGI." Kintsugi is a philosophy, repairing broken pottery with precious metals, symbolizing resilience and beauty in imperfection. I use 24-carat gold and silver leaves (from Kanazawa) and copper leaves to achieve this effect.
My work in this series was inspired by aerial photos of the beautiful circular patterns of farmlands in Kansas. As I am aware of the ecological toll of mass farming – from the degradation of soil health to the harmful effects of pesticides that seep and contaminate underground waters as well as our environment and wildlife, I wanted to create a symbolic offering of healing to those areas by offering positive healing energy for our precious Earth, bringing together the gold, the crystals, the essential oils, the healing words and the colour energies.

“Heart Chakra” radiates in luminous emerald green — the frequency of compassion, renewal and living truth. At its centre rests the sacred heart chakra symbol, inspired by the ancient energy system of Anahata, gently emanating straight rays of dotted light. These precise lines extend outward like energetic transmissions, suggesting love in motion; intentional, focused, and infinitely expanding.
Shades of green merge with soft pink, harmonising the heart’s dual qualities of strength and tenderness. Green embodies growth, balance and connection to Earth; pink whispers of unconditional love and emotional healing. Together, they create a field of compassionate equilibrium.
Embedded within the piece are Jade and Green Aventurine. Jade carries the frequency of harmony, wisdom and serene protection. Green Aventurine, known as the stone of opportunity, supports heart healing and emotional renewal. Their energies subtly amplify the intention of the work — to open, soothe and strengthen the heart centre.
This piece is an invocation: a reminder that love is not passive, it radiates, it reaches, it transforms. 💗💚
