ABOUT KAVITA

Kavita Chachcha is a former architect and a visual artist based out of Singapore. Her works weaves cultural narratives from her native region, Southeast Asia, with contemporary minimalist design sensibilities, catered to global nomads like herself. Her style can be best described as ‘Abstract with a touch of tradition’. Kavita has grown up in India and her work touches upon the memories and messages derived from her roots of cultural origin. The artwork depicts these messages through deeper conversations released through fluidity of her painted brushstrokes. By layering contrasting ideas both traditional and modern in nature she wants the viewers to feel connected and surprised. Over the last few years she had the opportunity to participate in several Exhibitions and Art collectives initiating a dialogue between her modern art and artistic crowd.

In my art I like to like to connect contemporary style with cultural abstraction. Different ideas
allow me to express different emotions in a story telling manner. Art, I create is driven by image, medium and process constructed by my background in architecture. A new identity breathes life on to my canvas through its design interface and juxtapositioning of interconnected, unfinished fragments of Travel & photography, festival & saree clad women, vintage lamps & lanterns, doors & windows, tropical greens and other such elements.

I approach my work as an exploration of balance; between geometry and intuition, material and emotion, the visible and the unseen. My practice integrates painting with subtle sculptural elements, creating layered surfaces that hold both texture and depth. Through colour, form, and structure, I seek to evoke a sense of stillness and quiet movement; a rhythm that resonates beyond the visual.

I’m fascinated by how colour and form influence energy, how they can transform the atmosphere of a space or the inner state of the viewer. My background in colour therapy and Aura-Soma informs the way I approach painting as vibration, where each hue, proportion, and geometric relationship carries a frequency that invites coherence and calm.

Sacred geometry often guides my compositions, not as strict symbolism, but as an underlying language of harmony and interconnectedness. Semi-precious stones such as amethyst, pearls, Tridacna and quartz are embedded within the surface, refracting light and introducing a natural resonance that bridges the physical and the ethereal.

My process is deliberate yet intuitive. I work in layers, building and eroding until the surface begins to breathe. I am less concerned with representation than with presence: with creating a space that feels alive, contemplative, and emotionally grounded.

Ultimately, my work is an act of quiet alchemy; a merging of material and spirit, movement and stillness. I hope it offers a moment of pause, a gentle recognition of beauty as vibration, a reminder that harmony is not an idea but a living experience.
