What media of art do you work in? Painting, ceramics, etc?
I work mostly with acrylic paint and mediums. But I do incorporate pastels, pigments, crystals and other elements, too.
How would you describe your genre of painting?
My work blends eco-spiritualism, mixed media abstraction, intuitive symbolism, and environmental aesthetics to explore healing, vibration, and our deep connection to the natural world.
Can you describe your creative process? When you begin a painting, do you have an idea of what the end result is? Do you prepare sketches first? Do you know the colors you are going to use?
My process begins with a quiet meditation to ground myself and connect with the energy I want to bring into the work. I prepare my materials and create a supportive atmosphere using smudging, scents, music, flowers, and candlelight to reflect the mood of the piece. I then write intentional words — such as Love, Harmony, or Peace — directly onto the canvas as a starting point. After that, I lay down a base colour to establish the emotional tone and visual foundation. While I often begin with a general compositional framework, the work evolves intuitively as I build up layers, textures, and mixed media, allowing the final composition to emerge organically.
What is the message you want people to take away from your artwork?
The message I want people to take away from my artwork is one of harmony, healing, and beauty. Rather than focusing on conflict, heaviness, or discordant imagery, my work aims to transmute these negative energies, drawing on principles inspired by Feng Shui and vibrational healing. I want the viewer to feel an uplifting shift, to experience a sense of peace and lightness. Ideally, I hope people look at my work and say, “This is different… but I feel so calm and happy.” It’s about creating visual environments that support emotional balance and inner well-being.
100 years from now, how do you want people to remember you as an artist?
One hundred years from now, I’d love to be remembered as someone who poured their heart into creating art that helped people feel lighter, more peaceful, and more connected. I hope that my work still carries the energy of healing and harmony, and that it continues to bring comfort and beauty to those who experience it. I want to be remembered not just as an artist, but as someone who cared deeply, about people, the Earth, and the unseen energies that shape our lives. If someone were to stand in front of my work and feel a sense of calm or joy, even long after I’m gone, that would be very precious to me.
What is your favorite praise you have received from a client or about your work?
I’m not sure why, but something in your painting stirred something deep within me. It's not a style I’m usually drawn to, yet I felt an unexpected connection, like it awakened a certain energy or emotion in me. I didn’t just see it… I felt it. And I loved that.”
What are your hobbies outside of Art?
I love colour and energy healing. I studied Aura-Soma, pranic healing, angelic reiki, aura-chakra healing and colour healing. I am also a teacher.
Give me one or two sentences about your family?
I have 3 adult children. My 2 boys are in NS.
What has been your strongest influence in your art career thus far?
Colours, individuality, metaphysics.
What is your vision for yourself as an artist 5 years from now?
Continue to stay true to my inspirations and my own style.
Which one is your favorite artwork you have ever done and tell us why?
Sounds of the Ocean.
The highlights of this piece are the colour, the throat chakra symbol, and the mandalas. I imagined healing sound waves emanating from the symbol. This healing is for anyone and everyone in whatever form it is needed and received. The dominant colour, royal blue, is associated with the third eye chakra and opens the door to deep seeing. It is the colour of lapis lazuli, a crystal that awakens the third eye for deep seeing, feeling and knowing, our intuition.
Upon closer look, you’ll see the lighter shades of blue and even some turquoise.
It is all about reaching deep within the wisdom of the universe that is a part of us and expressing it in the most harmonious and loving ways. This colour always reminds me of the deep ocean and the songs of the ancient, wise whales and the friendly, playful dolphins and other deep-sea creatures who vibrate in
higher, healing frequencies. The lotus flowers are to add to the symbolism as they are an ancient symbol of the wisdom of the divine.
The crystals on this piece are: Blue tiger eye is believed to bring abundance but also insight into complicated situations and problems. Tridacna enhances the magnetic field of the human body and creates an aura of protection against negative energies. It calms one's mind, enhances wisdom and believed to promote good energy flow.
Which is one of your most recent works and tell me how you would describe the artwork to a potential buyer.
Love (Abundance), the fourth piece in this series, radiates warmth and generosity. The word LOVE is formed using red saga seeds, a symbol of abundance, reinforcing the idea that love is ever-flowing and infinite. From this central word, rays extend outward, visually expressing love’s expansive energy as it moves beyond the canvas and into the world. These rays, bursting with life, symbolize an abundance of love that grows and multiplies when shared. The painting’s 3D flowers, sculpted with textured acrylic paint, bloom in shades of coral and orange. These hues are deeply connected to the sacral chakra, the energy centre associated with creativity, passion, and emotional connection. The choice of colour reflects the essence of our being—the pure, innate love within every individual. The textured flowers, vibrant and full of movement, embody this love as something alive, dynamic, and ever-ready to flourish. With its rich symbolism and bold textures, Love (Abundance) serves as a reminder that love, like nature, is meant to expand, bloom, and be shared in its purest form. It is an invitation to embrace love as a boundless force, flowing freely from within.
