What media of art do you work in?
I have a diversified art practice that encompasses photography, sculpture, charcoal, painting and mixed media including NFT’s.

How would you describe your genre of painting?
I would describe it as “Visual Expressionism”. I focus on expressing emotions, ideas, and concepts visually and prioritize the act of conveying subjective experiences and perspectives through the artwork itself instead of one style or technique.

Can you describe your creative process?  When you begin a painting, do you have an idea of what the end result is? Do you prepare sketches first?  Do you know the colors you are going to use?
If I have an idea for an artwork, I first decide which medium will suit it best.  Once I start, the art then becomes more of a discovery than something intentional.

What is the message you want people to take away from your artwork?
Through my creations,  I aim to evoke contemplation on the passing of time, the fragility of life and invite the viewers to explore their own emotional worlds.

100 years from now, how do you want people to remember you as an artist?
I hope to be remembered simply as the creator of my art.

What is your favourite praise you have received from a client or about your work?
I see and understand.

What are your hobbies outside of Art?

To travel and capture the essence of different cultures and people. I enjoy different sport activities.

What is an interesting piece of trivia about you that people don’t know?
The subject of my second book, “The Phukthar Monastery” came about when I discovered the monastery heliskiing in India.

What has been your strongest influence in your art career thus far?
People, travel and my inquisitive nature.

What is your vision for yourself as an artist 5 years from now?
Continual growth as an artist never losing my love for experimentation and exploration.

Which one is your favorite artwork you have ever done and tell us why? Frida. This is one of my favourite works of mine. Its a bright mix of colours, Orphism and geometric shapes. It is also my take on Frida Kahlo's self portraits. It was bought by a lady who saw it at an exhibition and couldn't stop thinking about it after she went back home!

”Sanctuary #1” - Gold Leaf and Oil on Canvas - 30.5 x 30.5cm

As I witness the division and strife in the world… My abstract landscape is a sanctuary where I find peace and a space to breathe.
