What media of art do you work in?
My favourite art form I work in is painting. Love working primarily with acrylics, and other mediums like pastels and inks.

How would you describe your genre of painting?
Abstract expressionism.

Can you describe your creative process?  When you begin a painting, do you have an idea of what the end result is? Do you prepare sketches first?  Do you know the colors you are going to use?
My creative process begins by observing the world around me with a keen eye for detail. From the rhythmic movement of sweeping a floor to the organic forms found in a pile of laundry, I discover an endless array of shapes and patterns. These mundane tasks serve as the foundation of my artistic exploration, providing me with a rich tapestry of inspiration to draw from.

Using various mark-making tools to paint and scratch into the substrate, I let each piece develop organically. An integral part of my work involves glazing, painting over, and sanding back to reveal some of the hidden layers underneath. This reflects my joy of creating new stories for the viewer.

All this is carefully woven into my work and helps move my painting forward, allowing for happy accidents.

What is the message you want people to take away from your artwork?
As an abstract artist, I find inspiration in the mundane tasks, shapes, and colors that fill our daily lives.

In my paintings, I strive to capture the essence of these ordinary moments, transforming them into abstract compositions that evoke a sense of wonder and curiosity. Through bold brushstrokes and vibrant colors, I aim to convey the energy and vitality that permeates even the most routine activities, inviting viewers to see beauty in the everyday.

100 years from now, how do you want people to remember you as an artist?
People should remember me as both an artist and educator who passionately shared my creativity, knowledge, and insights with others. My dedication to fostering artistic expression and nurturing the talents of future generations leaving an enduring legacy that continues to inspire and shape the world of art.
