What media of art do you work in?
I primarily work with oil paints. However, I do work with graphite and charcoal as well.

How would you describe your genre of painting?
My work encompasses mostly floral, still life and portraits in the traditional realism style.

Can you describe your creative process?  When you begin a painting, do you have an idea of what the end result is? Do you prepare sketches first?  Do you know the colors you are going to use?
My creative process starts with an emotional spark triggered by something I see, whether it’s flowers, people or still life. Subsequently, I create and experiment studies of these subjects before getting started on the actual drawing or painting. Usually, I have an idea of what I want the final painting to look like through my sketches and color studies. This is an important step of the process for me and I try to adhere to it as much as possible for my drawings and paintings.

What is the message you want people to take away from your artwork?
Through my drawings and paintings, my goal is to reveal the profound simplistic beauty that surrounds us and I want the viewer to embark on a journey of discovery and emotions. My wish, for those who experience my art, is to be captivated by the glimpses of everyday life and nature, leaving them captivated and inspired.

100 years from now, how do you want people to remember you as an artist?
That’s an interesting question! In a century's time, I would like people to remember me as an artist who breathed life into the canvas, capturing the essence of beauty and the nuanced expressions of humanity. I hope they recall me as a master of realism, whose portraits and paintings conveyed not just faces or objects, but stories etched with depth and emotion. Through my art, I aim to leave a timeless legacy that inspires others

What is your favourite praise you have received from a client or about your work?

The best compliment that I've received from one of my collectors is that my works are not just creations on canvas, they are masterpieces which come to life with attention to detail. I feel so honoured and humbled.

Give me one or two sentences about your family?
My husband and I have been married for 15 years. We have a loving 7-year-old daughter. We are a small and loving family of 3.

What has been your strongest influence in your art career thus far?
The driving force behind my artistic journey has been my deep-seated passion for creation. Over the recent years, my love for art has blossomed to the point where I find myself consistently compelled to create. I draw immense inspiration from the works of Adolphe William Bouguereau and Fantin Latour, whose artistry continues to ignite my imagination and fuel my artistic endeavors.

What is your vision for yourself as an artist 5 years from now?
My vision is to continue exploring portraiture and floral subjects and develop more meaningful paintings.

Which one is your favorite artwork you have ever done and tell us why?
The favourite artwork I’ve done till date is ‘The blue tea jar’. This painting holds a special place in my heart because of my fondness for tea, as well as my collection of tea jars. The painting evokes memories of delightful mornings spent

Which is one of your most recent works?
My recent artwork is a floral piece “White and pink roses”. I love roses and their essence. This piece is very close to my heart as I was able to paint the roses fully from life over a span of 4 days and able to capture their essence, form and emotions. In this piece, I aimed to not just capture their form, but also the emotions they evoke. Flowers possess a unique ability to touch our souls, and I believe I was able to capture that sentiment in this painting.
